Bondo, Kenya — July 2, 2025
Residents of Bondo Ward gathered with excitement as CH, in partnership with the Siaya County Government and local stakeholders, launched a solar-powered borehole and water distribution system aimed at improving access to clean, safe drinking water.
“This project will drastically reduce waterborne diseases in our community,” said Chief Officer for Public Health, Dr. Mboya Ochieng.
The initiative includes:
- Installation of a deep borehole
- A 10,000-liter elevated tank
- Three public water points strategically located in high-traffic areas
“This is a huge relief,” said Mama Janet, a resident and mother of four. “Before this, we walked two hours to the river.”
The project was funded through a joint grant from [Funder Name] and community contributions through local water user committees.
